Palworld launched in early access on the Xbox console family besides Windows. On January 19, 2024, it became available through Xbox Game Preview for Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S, alongside its Windows release.
This initial console launch was separate from the later PlayStation 5 release, which arrived in September 2024. Nintendo Switch was not an early-access launch platform, and Dreamcast is unrelated to the game's modern release ecosystem.
The Xbox version was also closely connected to Microsoft's Game Pass service from day one. Players could access the Xbox and Windows Store editions through the relevant subscription arrangements, while the Steam edition was distributed independently.
Palworld's Xbox release helped establish its early console audience and supported Xbox-oriented multiplayer features. The different PC editions initially had differences in multiplayer functionality and update timing, so “Xbox” identifies the console family, not every version of the game or every cross-play arrangement.
