Which composer wrote the score for Mission: Impossible 2?

Hans Zimmer wrote the score for Mission: Impossible 2.

Zimmer composed the music for the 2000 sequel, directed by John Woo and starring Tom Cruise as Ethan Hunt. His score combines large orchestral action writing with electronic textures and a distinctive rock-oriented approach that matches the film’s heightened visual style.

The movie also uses the famous Mission: Impossible theme originally composed by Lalo Schifrin. That distinction causes a frequent mix-up: Schifrin created the franchise’s classic theme for the television series, while Zimmer composed the original score for Mission: Impossible 2.

Zimmer’s other major film credits include The Lion King, Gladiator, The Dark Knight and Inception. Mission: Impossible 2 follows Ethan’s attempt to stop the release of the Chimera virus and was released in the United States in May 2000.
