Which company produced the original Star Wars Micro Machines vehicle toys in the 1990s?

The story behind the answer

Galoob produced the original Star Wars Micro Machines vehicle toys in the 1990s.

Micro Machines were small-scale vehicles and playsets created by the American toy company Galoob. The Star Wars range applied the format to spacecraft, speeders, walkers and character figures from the original trilogy and later films. Their compact size made it possible to sell several vehicles together and to build themed play environments without the space required by larger action figures.

Hasbro acquired Galoob in 1998, which is why later Star Wars Micro Machines products are sometimes associated with Hasbro. The original manufacturer, however, was Galoob. This is also separate from Kenner’s larger 3.75-inch vehicle-and-figure toys, even though both ranges were licensed Star Wars merchandise.

Micro Machines are often confused with Action Fleet, another small-scale Star Wars vehicle line. Action Fleet products were generally larger and more detailed, while Micro Machines emphasized tiny vehicles and multipack collecting.
