Which company developed the Uncharted video game series?

The company that developed the Uncharted video game series is Naughty Dog. The California-based studio created the franchise for Sony and developed its mainline games, beginning with Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune for the PlayStation 3 in 2007.

Naughty Dog was founded in 1984 by Andy Gavin and Jason Rubin. Before Uncharted, the studio became widely known for the Crash Bandicoot and Jak and Daxter series. Uncharted marked a shift toward cinematic action-adventure games, combining third-person shooting, climbing, platforming, exploration, and heavily scripted storytelling.

Sony Computer Entertainment published the original games, which can cause confusion about the answer. Sony owns Naughty Dog and publishes the Uncharted titles, but Naughty Dog is the development studio responsible for making the games. Other companies contributed to spin-offs and later adaptations, yet the core Uncharted series is identified with Naughty Dog. The studio also developed The Last of Us, another major PlayStation franchise known for its character-driven storytelling.
