Jordan Klepper created and hosted Comedy Central’s The Opposition with Jordan Klepper.
The satirical news program premiered in September 2017 as a companion to The Daily Show. Klepper played an exaggerated version of a conspiracy-minded political commentator, using a studio format that parodied online political media and partisan news personalities.
The show was produced by Comedy Central and ended in June 2018 after one season. Its short run can cause confusion with Klepper’s later work as a correspondent and host of political comedy specials.
The title itself identifies the presenter, unlike many late-night programs whose hosts are not included in the name. Klepper was previously known for serving as a correspondent on The Daily Show and later returned to that program in an expanded on-air role.
