Which comedian hosted CBS’s The Late Late Show from 2005 to 2014?

Craig Ferguson hosted CBS’s The Late Late Show from 2005 to 2014.

Ferguson, a Scottish-American comedian and actor, became the program’s third host after Craig Kilborn and Tom Snyder. He took over in January 2005 and developed a distinctive format built around conversational interviews, improvised comedy and unusual fictional characters.

His on-screen sidekick was Geoff Peterson, an animatronic skeleton voiced by Josh Robert Thompson. Ferguson also frequently interacted with a pantomime horse named Secretariat, creating a looser and more surreal atmosphere than many American late-night shows.

Ferguson’s final episode aired in December 2014. James Corden succeeded him in March 2015, so the two hosts are sometimes linked when viewers recall the show’s later CBS era.
