Which comedian hosted The Joan Rivers Show on daytime television?

The story behind the answer

Joan Rivers hosted The Joan Rivers Show on daytime television.

The Joan Rivers Show was a syndicated daytime talk show that premiered in 1989. Rivers brought her stand-up persona, celebrity interviews, audience interaction, and outspoken comic commentary to the format. The program earned her a Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Talk Show Host in 1990.

Rivers had already made late-night history as the first permanent woman host of a major network late-night talk show when Fox launched The Late Show Starring Joan Rivers in 1986. Her daytime program was a separate series and should not be confused with that short-lived late-night experiment.

The show ended in 1993 after several seasons. Rivers continued working in television, comedy, fashion commentary, and red-carpet coverage. The title can also cause confusion with programs associated with her daughter, Melissa Rivers, but Joan was the host of this series.
