Which coach worked with Djokovic from 2013 to 2016?
Answer
Boris Becker
Answer
Boris Becker
Boris Becker worked with Novak Djokovic from 2013 to 2016.
Becker was announced as Djokovic's new head coach in December 2013, joining a team that also included longtime coach Marián Vajda. Djokovic wanted additional expertise for the biggest matches, particularly after falling short in several Grand Slam campaigns, and Becker's experience as a six-time major champion made him a natural fit.
Becker's first tournament coaching Djokovic was the 2014 Australian Open. The partnership quickly produced major success: Djokovic won Wimbledon in 2014 and 2015, the Australian Open in 2015 and 2016, and the 2016 French Open, completing his career Grand Slam. Djokovic also returned to the world No. 1 ranking during this period.
The coaching relationship ended in December 2016 by mutual agreement. Marián Vajda remained an important figure in Djokovic's wider coaching history, but Becker—not Carlos Moyá, Patrick Mouratoglou or Ivan Lendl—was the coach associated with this specific 2013–2016 period.
