Aston Villa was scheduled to visit Brighton in the 2026–27 Premier League opening weekend.
Brighton & Hove Albion were drawn at home to Aston Villa on Sunday 23 August 2026. The fixture was scheduled for 14:00, alongside Manchester City versus AFC Bournemouth.
The Premier League listed the unusual simultaneous Sunday kick-off because Brighton were due to participate in UEFA Conference League qualifying play-offs on the preceding Thursday. The scheduling avoided giving Brighton an even shorter turnaround before their European commitment.
Brighton play at Falmer Stadium, also known as the American Express Stadium. Aston Villa play at Villa Park in Birmingham, so this opening-round fixture required Villa to travel south to the Sussex coast.
