Manchester City were scheduled to face Bournemouth at home on Sunday in the 2026–27 Premier League opening weekend.
Manchester City v Bournemouth was listed for Sunday 23 August 2026 at 14:00 BST at the City of Manchester Stadium. The fixture formed part of a Sunday double-header alongside Brighton & Hove Albion v Aston Villa, which had the same scheduled start time.
Manchester City’s stadium is commonly known as the Etihad Stadium, although the season article identifies it as the City of Manchester Stadium. Bournemouth’s home venue is Dean Court, so this opening fixture was played in Manchester rather than Dorset.
The match was one of three Sunday games in the opening round. Newcastle United v Liverpool followed at 16:30, while the round concluded the next evening with Fulham v Chelsea.
