Chelsea visited Fulham in the final fixture of the 2026–27 Premier League opening round.
The match was scheduled for Monday, 24 August 2026, at 20:00 BST. Fulham hosted the game at Craven Cottage, making it the last fixture of the first Match Round after matches on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
Fulham and Chelsea are both London clubs, but they play at different grounds. Craven Cottage stands beside the River Thames, while Chelsea’s home is Stamford Bridge. The short distance between the clubs makes this a notable west London matchup.
The Monday scheduling meant the opening round lasted four days. It also gave the Premier League a clearly defined closing fixture, rather than ending with the final Sunday match at Newcastle United.
