Aston Villa visited Brighton & Hove Albion on Sunday 23 August 2026 in the opening round of the 2026–27 Premier League season.
The match was scheduled for 14:00 BST. It was one of two Sunday games starting at that time, alongside Manchester City against AFC Bournemouth.
Brighton’s participation in UEFA Conference League qualification play-offs influenced the scheduling. The club had a European qualifying fixture on the preceding Thursday, so its league match was placed at 14:00 on Sunday.
Brighton played at Falmer Stadium, while Aston Villa’s home venue was Villa Park. The fixture was one of ten matches in the opening Match Round, which ran from Friday through Monday.
