Leeds United recorded the only away win on 22 August 2026 in the 2026–27 Premier League opening round.
Leeds United won 1–0 away to Nottingham Forest at the City Ground. The match was one of four Premier League fixtures played on Saturday, 22 August, and Leeds were the only visiting team to take all three points that day.
The narrow victory contrasted with several larger home wins elsewhere in the opening round. Leeds scored once and kept a clean sheet, producing a goal difference of plus one. Nottingham Forest, by contrast, began the season without a goal and without a point.
Leeds United are one of English football’s most historic clubs and have spent periods in both the Premier League and the second tier. Nottingham Forest are also former European champions, so the fixture brought together two clubs with significant historical reputations. In the opening-round table, Leeds’ single-goal victory placed them among the teams with a positive goal difference.
