Which club recorded a 4–0 victory over Aston Villa on the 2026–27 Premier League opening weekend?

Brighton & Hove Albion recorded a 4–0 victory over Aston Villa on the 2026–27 Premier League opening weekend.

The match was played at the Amex Stadium on Sunday, 23 August 2026. Brighton scored four times in the first 31 minutes and finished with the weekend’s joint-highest winning margin, four goals.

Aston Villa’s afternoon became even more difficult after the side was reduced to 10 players. Brighton’s emphatic win gave the club three points and an immediate positive goal difference of plus four.

The result is sometimes mixed up with Arsenal’s 3–0 victory over Coventry City or Brentford’s 3–0 win against Tottenham Hotspur. Brighton’s scoreline was the only 4–0 result in the opening round.
