Which club finished the 2017-18 Premier League season with 100 points?
Answer
Manchester City
Answer
Manchester City
Manchester City finished the 2017–18 Premier League season with 100 points, becoming the first English top-flight team to reach that total.
Managed by Pep Guardiola, City won 32 of their 38 league matches and scored 106 goals. They secured the championship with five matches still to play after Manchester United lost at home to West Bromwich Albion on 15 April 2018. City finished 19 points clear of United in second place.
The side became known as the “Centurions” because of its unprecedented points haul. Its campaign also produced records for wins, away wins, goals scored, goal difference and consecutive league victories. City’s 18-match winning run helped establish a huge early lead.
A common mix-up is confusing the 100-point achievement with City’s earlier title-winning seasons. The club had won the Premier League in 2011–12 and 2013–14, but neither team reached 100 points. The 2017–18 total remains one of the competition’s defining records.
