Manchester City faced AFC Bournemouth at the Etihad Stadium on the first Sunday of the 2026–27 Premier League season.
The match was scheduled for Sunday 23 August 2026 at 14:00 BST. Manchester City were the home team, and the fixture formed part of a Sunday double-header at that time.
Brighton & Hove Albion versus Aston Villa was scheduled for the same 14:00 start. The Sunday programme later continued with Newcastle United against Liverpool at 16:30.
The official fixture listing uses AFC Bournemouth’s full club name, although the team is commonly called Bournemouth. The Etihad Stadium is Manchester City’s home ground and is located in east Manchester.
