Chelsea visited Fulham on Monday during the 2026–27 Premier League opening weekend.
The match was played at Craven Cottage on 24 August 2026, completing the first round of fixtures. Chelsea won 3–2, making it the only opening-weekend match played on the Monday. Fulham were the home side, despite both clubs being based in west London.
Craven Cottage is Fulham’s historic riverside stadium and was listed with a capacity of 28,107 for the 2026–27 season. Chelsea’s home ground, Stamford Bridge, is also in the London borough of Hammersmith and Fulham, but Chelsea travelled a short distance for this fixture.
Fulham began the season under Álvaro Arbeloa, while Chelsea were managed by Xabi Alonso. The match was the final game of the opening round, following Friday’s Arsenal–Coventry opener and the Saturday and Sunday schedules. Its 3–2 scoreline made it the highest-scoring match of the opening weekend, with five goals in total.
