Chelsea visited Fulham in the final fixture of the 2026–27 Premier League opening round.
The match was played at Craven Cottage on Monday 24 August 2026. It completed the first Matchweek after the opening fixtures had been spread across Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
Chelsea won 3–2 away from home. The result gave Chelsea three points and made the west London meeting an eventful conclusion to the round. Because both clubs play in west London, the fixture also had the character of a local derby.
The match should not be confused with Brentford’s Saturday game against Tottenham Hotspur or Everton’s home match against Crystal Palace. Those were also London-area fixtures, but Fulham versus Chelsea was specifically the Monday finale and the only opening-round match played on 24 August.
