Brentford played Tottenham Hotspur in the final Premier League match on Saturday of the 2026–27 opening weekend.
The fixture was scheduled for Saturday 22 August 2026 at Brentford Community Stadium. It followed five earlier Saturday matches, including Hull City versus Manchester United and the three fixtures listed for the 15:00 slot.
Brentford’s home ground is in west London and has a listed capacity of 17,250. Tottenham Hotspur played away from their modern stadium, which opened in 2019 and is one of the largest grounds in the competition.
The match was also the last Saturday fixture in the opening Match Round. Sunday then featured three games, while Fulham versus Chelsea completed the round on Monday evening.
