Chelsea completed the 2026–27 Premier League opening round by visiting Fulham.
The London derby was scheduled for Monday, 24 August 2026, at 20:00 BST, with Fulham hosting Chelsea at Craven Cottage. It was the tenth and final fixture of the first Match Round.
The game followed nine matches spread across Friday, Saturday and Sunday. The opening round therefore ended on a Monday rather than concluding during the weekend itself, a scheduling pattern used to accommodate broadcast selections and the league’s wider calendar.
Chelsea won the match 3–2, giving them three points from their first fixture. The result was also notable as a local derby: Fulham and Chelsea are both based in west London, and their grounds are separated by a relatively short distance along the River Thames.
