Brentford beat Tottenham Hotspur 3–0 on the first Saturday of the 2026–27 Premier League season.
The victory came at Brentford Community Stadium on 22 August 2026. Keane Lewis-Potter opened the scoring after a setup from debutant Mamadou Sangare, Vitaly Janelt added a second before half-time, and Michael Kayode completed the 3–0 win after the interval.
Brentford’s performance was emphatic, although Igor Thiago missed a penalty that could have made the scoreline even larger. The result gave Brentford a strong start after the club had matched its best-ever Premier League finish in the previous campaign.
Tottenham began the season under Roberto De Zerbi. During the match, Archie Gray became the youngest player to captain Tottenham in a competitive fixture, breaking Steve Perryman’s record. Despite that milestone, Spurs left west London without a goal or a point.
