Bonn is home to the headquarters of the International Paralympic Committee.
The IPC’s headquarters are located in Bonn, Germany. The city became an important international center after the IPC was established in 1989, when the organization began building a permanent administrative structure for the worldwide Paralympic Movement.
From Bonn, the IPC works with national Paralympic committees, international federations, athletes and Games organizers. Its responsibilities include promoting Paralympic sport, supporting inclusion and overseeing key policies such as the International Standard for Classification.
Bonn is sometimes mixed up with Düsseldorf, where the IPC was founded. Cologne is also nearby in western Germany, but it is not the IPC’s headquarters city. The organization’s official name is International Paralympic Committee, commonly abbreviated as IPC.
