Stockholm hosted the opening concert of Beyoncé’s Renaissance World Tour in May 2023.
The tour began at Friends Arena in Stockholm, Sweden, on May 10, 2023. It supported Renaissance, Beyoncé’s seventh studio album, and became her first solo concert tour since The Formation World Tour in 2016.
The production featured a large stage, advanced lighting, extensive choreography, and recurring imagery associated with the Renaissance era. The tour traveled through Europe and North America before concluding in Kansas City, Missouri, on October 1, 2023.
Stockholm is sometimes confused with Cardiff, where the European tour’s ticket-sales attention and opening-week coverage generated substantial publicity. The first show, however, was in Stockholm; the tour later visited many major cities, including London, Paris, Toronto, and Los Angeles.
