London has had the most different Premier League clubs. Since the competition began in 1992, at least ten distinct clubs based in London have played in it: Arsenal, Brentford, Charlton Athletic, Chelsea, Crystal Palace, Fulham, Queens Park Rangers, Tottenham Hotspur, West Ham United and Wimbledon.
That total reflects the capital’s unusually dense football culture. London contains many historic clubs spread across different boroughs, so Premier League promotion and relegation have repeatedly changed which parts of the city are represented. Arsenal, Chelsea and Tottenham are among the six clubs to have appeared in every Premier League season, while others such as Brentford and Charlton have had shorter spells.
A common mix-up involves Wimbledon. The club played its entire Premier League career at Selhurst Park, sharing the ground with Crystal Palace, before relocating to Milton Keynes in 2003 and later becoming Milton Keynes Dons. It is nevertheless counted as a London club for its Premier League history. Watford is sometimes grouped with London geographically, but its listed location is Watford, so it is not normally included in this comparison.
