Which Chilean peninsula lies south of the Taitao Peninsula and includes the town of Puerto Natales?

The story behind the answer

The Brunswick Peninsula is the Chilean peninsula that includes the town of Puerto Natales.

It occupies much of the mainland portion of Chile’s Magallanes Region and extends southward toward the Strait of Magellan. Punta Arenas, the region’s largest city, stands on its eastern coast, while Puerto Natales lies farther northwest near the entrance to the fjord and mountain country of Última Esperanza Sound. The peninsula includes forests, steppe and glaciated landscapes.

Its name comes from the Strait of Magellan’s historic European naming traditions, which included references to the House of Brunswick. The peninsula is sometimes mistakenly treated as part of Tierra del Fuego, but Tierra del Fuego is the large island south of the Strait of Magellan. The Brunswick Peninsula remains on the South American mainland, although its coast is deeply indented by channels and fjords.
