Which Brentford player scored the opening goal in the club's 3–0 win over Tottenham Hotspur?

The story behind the answer

Keane Lewis-Potter scored Brentford's opening goal in their 3–0 win over Tottenham Hotspur.

Lewis-Potter put Brentford ahead in the 12th minute at Brentford Community Stadium. He converted the chance created by new club-record signing Mamadou Sangare, who made an immediate impact on his debut.

Vitaly Janelt added Brentford's second goal before half-time, and Michael Kayode completed the 3–0 scoreline after the interval. Brentford therefore opened the season with a convincing home victory.

Igor Thiago could have added another goal from the penalty spot, but he missed his penalty. That miss prevented Brentford from finishing the day above Arsenal on goal difference, although the Bees still began the campaign with three points and a clean sheet.
