Keane Lewis-Potter opened the scoring for Brentford against Tottenham Hotspur in a 3–0 win during the 2026–27 opening weekend.
Lewis-Potter scored in the 12th minute at Brentford’s opening match of the season. He was assisted by Mamadou Sangare, Brentford’s club-record signing, who made an immediate impact on his debut.
Vitaly Janelt doubled Brentford’s lead before half-time, and Michael Kayode completed the 3–0 victory after the interval. The result gave Brentford an ideal start under manager Keith Andrews.
Igor Thiago also featured prominently but missed a penalty. That miss mattered because converting it would have improved Brentford’s goal difference and could have placed them above Arsenal at the top of the early table.
