Which bourbon distillery produces Woodford Reserve in Versailles, Kentucky?

The story behind the answer

Woodford Reserve is produced at Woodford Reserve Distillery in Versailles, Kentucky.

The distillery was originally established in 1812 by Elijah Pepper, making it one of Kentucky’s historic bourbon sites. It was later known as the Labrot & Graham Distillery before Brown–Forman developed the Woodford Reserve brand.

Woodford Reserve uses a traditional bourbon mash bill containing corn, rye, and malted barley. The distillery is especially associated with copper pot stills, unlike the column stills used by many large bourbon producers.

The site’s location can cause confusion: Versailles is pronounced differently from the French city of Versailles. Woodford Reserve is also the official bourbon of the Kentucky Derby, a prominent annual horse race held in Louisville.
