Which Beyoncé song won the Grammy for Best Music Video in 2021?

“Brown Skin Girl” won the Grammy for Best Music Video in 2021.

The song appears on The Lion King: The Gift, Beyoncé’s 2019 companion album to the animated film The Lion King. It features Blue Ivy Carter, Wizkid, and SAINt JHN. The music video celebrates Black girls and women through portraits, fashion, family scenes, and imagery centered on beauty and self-confidence.

The video was directed by Jenn Nkiru, who worked with Beyoncé on a visual approach that combines contemporary footage with references to Black artistic and cultural traditions. Blue Ivy Carter appears in the video and is credited on the recording, making the project especially notable within Beyoncé’s family and career history.

At the 63rd Annual Grammy Awards in 2021, “Brown Skin Girl” won Best Music Video. The award went to the video’s credited artists and creative team, not simply to a performer appearing onscreen. It is sometimes confused with “Black Parade,” which won Best R&B Performance at the same ceremony.
