The Beyoncé song associated with the phrase “I woke up like this” is “Flawless.”
“Flawless” appears on Beyoncé’s 2013 self-titled album. The song samples “Bow Down” from Beyoncé’s earlier recording and incorporates a speech by Nigerian writer Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie titled “We Should All Be Feminists.”
Its famous repeated line, “I woke up like this,” became a widely quoted part of the song and inspired the social-media phrase “#iwokeuplikethis.” The track combines a confrontational rap-influenced section with a message about confidence and self-definition.
“Flawless” is sometimes confused with “Formation,” another Beyoncé song strongly associated with empowerment and Black identity. “Formation” appeared on Lemonade, while “Flawless” belongs to the 2013 visual album.
