Which Beyoncé song features the famous lyric “I woke up like this”?

Beyoncé’s song “***Flawless” features the famous lyric “I woke up like this.”

The song appeared on Beyoncé, her self-titled 2013 studio album released without a traditional advance campaign. Its title is commonly styled with three asterisks before “Flawless,” reflecting Beyoncé’s official presentation of the track.

The recording incorporates part of Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie’s TEDx talk “We Should All Be Feminists.” Adichie’s spoken words became a central part of the song’s message about gender expectations and confidence.

The phrase “I woke up like this” became a widely quoted line and a popular social-media caption. It is sometimes attributed to “Formation,” another Beyoncé song strongly associated with self-definition, but the lyric belongs to “***Flawless.” The track was released as a single in 2014 and later received a remix featuring Nicki Minaj.
