Which Beyoncé film soundtrack features the song “Listen”?

The Beyoncé film soundtrack featuring “Listen” is Dreamgirls.

“Listen” appears on Dreamgirls: Music from the Motion Picture, the soundtrack to the 2006 musical film Dreamgirls. Beyoncé played Deena Jones, a singer whose story is part of the film’s fictionalized account of a 1960s vocal group’s rise in the music industry.

Beyoncé recorded “Listen” specifically for the film, and the song was written by Henry Krieger, Scott Cutler, Anne Preven, and Beyoncé. It plays during a key moment in which Deena asserts her independence and voice.

The soundtrack also includes performances by Jennifer Hudson, Anika Noni Rose, Jamie Foxx, Eddie Murphy, and Beyoncé. “Listen” received an Academy Award nomination for Best Original Song. The track is therefore associated with Dreamgirls rather than Beyoncé’s later film work in Cadillac Records or The Lion King.
