Which Beyoncé album won the first Grammy for Best Dance/Electronic Music Album?

The story behind the answer

Renaissance won the first Grammy for Best Dance/Electronic Music Album.

Beyoncé released Renaissance in 2022 as the first act in a planned trilogy. The album draws heavily on house, disco, funk, techno, and dance traditions, while celebrating club culture and Black and queer musical innovators. Its credits include contributions from artists such as Grace Jones, Nile Rodgers, Beam, and Jay-Z.

At the 65th Grammy Awards in 2023, Renaissance won Best Dance/Electronic Music Album. That ceremony also made Beyoncé the artist with the most Grammy wins at that time, surpassing the previous record of 31 victories.

The album’s lead single, “Break My Soul,” became Beyoncé’s first solo number-one single on the Billboard Hot 100 since “Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It).” Renaissance is sometimes confused with Cowboy Carter, the later second act in the trilogy.
