Which Beyoncé album was released in 2024 as the second act of a planned trilogy?

Cowboy Carter was released in 2024 as the second act of Beyoncé’s planned trilogy.

The album was released on March 29, 2024, and follows Renaissance, which is identified as the trilogy’s first act. Beyoncé described the project as a work that expands ideas about American music and the boundaries of country music.

Cowboy Carter includes the singles “Texas Hold ’Em” and “16 Carriages.” Its guests include Dolly Parton, Willie Nelson, Miley Cyrus, Post Malone, and Linda Martell. The album moves through country, Americana, rock, soul, and pop traditions.

The title is not simply a reference to a western costume or a standalone country experiment. It frames a large-scale examination of musical lineage and representation. The album debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 and later won the Grammy for Album of the Year.
