Which Beyoncé album is built around a film-length visual concept called Black Is King?

The Lion King: The Gift is the Beyoncé album connected to the visual film Black Is King.

Beyoncé released The Lion King: The Gift on July 19, 2019, as a companion album to Disney’s live-action adaptation of The Lion King. She voiced Nala in the film and curated the album around African artists and collaborators.

The project includes “Spirit,” Beyoncé’s original song from the film’s soundtrack, along with tracks featuring artists such as Burna Boy, WizKid, JAY-Z, and Childish Gambino.

In 2020, Beyoncé released Black Is King, a visual album and film inspired by the music of The Lion King: The Gift. The film used elaborate imagery, fashion, dance, and African cultural references. The Gift is therefore not the same project as Lemonade or Renaissance.
