Which Beyoncé album is based on the music of Disney’s The Lion King?
Answer
The Lion King: The Gift
Answer
The Lion King: The Gift
The Lion King: The Gift is the Beyoncé album based on the music of Disney’s The Lion King.
Beyoncé released The Lion King: The Gift on July 19, 2019, through Parkwood Entertainment and Columbia Records. She served as executive producer and described the project as a “sonic album,” connecting the 2019 live-action remake of The Lion King with African musical styles and artists.
The album includes contributions from African performers such as Wizkid, Burna Boy, Tiwa Savage, Mr Eazi, Shatta Wale, and Tekno, as well as artists including Jay-Z, Kendrick Lamar, Childish Gambino, and Pharrell Williams. Beyoncé also voiced Nala in the film.
The project is often confused with Black Is King. Black Is King is a 2020 visual album film that reimagines the music and themes of The Lion King: The Gift; it is not the original soundtrack album itself.
