Beyoncé's album Lemonade includes the songs “Love Drought” and “Formation.”
Lemonade was released on April 23, 2016, through Parkwood Entertainment and Columbia Records. It is a visual album built around a one-hour film that premiered on HBO on the same date. The project combines songs and imagery into a sequence organized around themes such as intuition, denial, anger, apathy, hope, and redemption.
The album moves across R&B, pop, rock, soul, blues, country, and hip-hop. “Formation” served as the lead single, while “Love Drought” appears later in the album's narrative. Other prominent tracks include “Sorry,” “Hold Up,” “Daddy Lessons,” and “All Night.”
Lemonade received widespread critical acclaim and won the Grammy for Best Urban Contemporary Album. It is sometimes described simply as an album, but its accompanying film is central to the project's visual-album format.
