Beyoncé’s 2006 album B’Day includes the song “Irreplaceable.”
B’Day was Beyoncé’s second solo studio album and was released on September 4, 2006, her 25th birthday. The title is a wordplay on “birthday” and the letter B, linking the album to both its release date and the performer’s name.
“Irreplaceable” became one of Beyoncé’s signature songs. Written by a team that included Ne-Yo, Mikkel S. Eriksen, Tor Hermansen, Espen Lind, Amund Bjørklund, and Beyoncé, the song presents a firm breakup message over a polished pop and R&B arrangement. It reached number one on the Billboard Hot 100.
B’Day also contains “Déjà Vu,” featuring Jay-Z, and “Beautiful Liar,” a later duet with Shakira on a deluxe edition. The album should not be confused with I Am... Sasha Fierce, which followed in 2008 and included “Single Ladies.”
