B’Day includes Beyoncé’s singles “Deja Vu,” “Ring the Alarm,” and “Irreplaceable.”
Released in 2006, B’Day was Beyoncé’s second solo studio album. Its title refers to her birthday because the record was developed around the period of her 25th birthday. The album followed her 2003 solo debut, Dangerously in Love, and continued her move from group success with Destiny’s Child toward an independent artistic identity.
“Deja Vu” features Jay-Z, “Ring the Alarm” became known for its intense vocal performance, and “Irreplaceable” developed into one of the album’s biggest commercial hits. The album’s sound blends contemporary R&B, pop, funk, and hip-hop influences.
B’Day is sometimes confused with Beyoncé’s 2006 film role in Dreamgirls because both projects belong to the same period of her career. The film and album were separate releases, although their timing helped make 2006 a particularly visible year for her.
