Which Beyoncé album features the songs “Halo” and “If I Were a Boy”?

The story behind the answer

Beyoncé’s album featuring “Halo” and “If I Were a Boy” is I Am... Sasha Fierce.

I Am... Sasha Fierce was released on November 12, 2008, as Beyoncé’s third studio album. It was presented as a double album: the I Am... disc emphasized more personal ballads, while the Sasha Fierce disc focused on a more assertive stage persona and dance-oriented material.

“If I Were a Boy” opens the I Am... portion and explores gender expectations in romantic relationships. “Halo,” also on that disc, became one of Beyoncé’s most successful international songs. Other singles from the project included “Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It)” and “Diva.”

The album received seven Grammy nominations at the 52nd Annual Grammy Awards and won six, including Best Contemporary R&B Album. The title can be confused with Beyoncé’s later albums 4 and Beyoncé, but its two-disc concept is specific to this 2008 release.
