Beyoncé’s album centered on a seven-part emotional journey after betrayal is Lemonade.
Released on April 23, 2016, Lemonade is Beyoncé’s sixth studio album. It was accompanied by an hour-long film on HBO, also titled Lemonade, which combined music, poetry, visual symbolism, and scenes connected to Black womanhood, family, grief, infidelity, reconciliation, and resilience.
The album is divided into chapters named Intuition, Denial, Anger, Apathy, Emptiness, Accountability, and Forgiveness. Its music moves across R&B, rock, country, blues, soul, hip-hop, and pop. Notable songs include “Formation,” “Sorry,” “Hold Up,” and “Daddy Lessons.”
Lemonade debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 and received widespread critical acclaim. It was nominated for Album of the Year at the 2017 Grammy Awards, while “Formation” won Best Music Video.
