Which Beyoncé album begins her three-act project with Renaissance?

Act I: Renaissance begins Beyoncé’s three-act project.

Released on July 29, 2022, Renaissance is Beyoncé’s seventh studio album and the first installment in a planned three-act project. Its title is styled as Renaissance, with “Act I” used in the project’s broader presentation.

The album draws on house, disco, funk, dance, and electronic music. Its lead single, “Break My Soul,” became Beyoncé’s first solo number-one song on the Billboard Hot 100 since “Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It)” in 2008.

The album’s three-act framing is sometimes confused with the titles of later or related projects. At the 2023 Grammy Awards, Renaissance won Best Dance/Electronic Music Album. Beyoncé later announced the second act as Cowboy Carter, released in 2024.
