The Battle of Sobraon in 1846 ended with the Treaty of Lahore during the First Anglo-Sikh War.

Fought on 10 February 1846 near the Sutlej River, Sobraon was the decisive final battle of the First Anglo-Sikh War. British East India Company forces defeated the Sikh Khalsa Army after crossing and attacking its fortified bridgehead. The defeat opened the route toward Lahore and forced the Sikh government to negotiate.

The Treaty of Lahore was signed later in February 1846. It imposed major political and territorial terms on the Sikh Empire and marked the beginning of stronger British control over Punjab. The Second Anglo-Sikh War followed in 1848–1849 and ended with the annexation of Punjab.

Sobraon is often confused with earlier battles of the same war, including Mudki and Ferozeshah. Those engagements were important, but Sobraon was the final and decisive battle leading directly to the treaty.
