Jay-Z joined Beyoncé on the 2018 collaborative album Everything Is Love.
The album was credited to The Carters, the professional name used by married artists Beyoncé and Shawn “Jay-Z” Carter. It was released by surprise on June 16, 2018, during the couple’s On the Run II Tour. The project contains nine tracks, including “Apeshit,” whose music video was filmed in the Louvre in Paris.
Everything Is Love followed several solo albums that addressed fame, marriage, family, and public scrutiny. Its title emphasizes the partnership between the two performers, while The Carters name distinguishes the joint project from either artist’s individual discography. Jay-Z and Beyoncé had previously collaborated on songs, but this was their first full-length album together.
