South Park won Best Animated Series at the 2026 Critics Choice Awards.
South Park is an animated comedy created by Trey Parker and Matt Stone. The series follows the often absurd adventures of children in the fictional Colorado town of South Park and is known for satire aimed at politics, celebrity culture, religion, and everyday social disputes.
Its Critics Choice win came in the television category for Best Animated Series. The nominees included Bob’s Burgers, Harley Quinn, and Long Story Short. The award was separate from Best Animated Feature, which went to KPop Demon Hunters.
South Park originally premiered on Comedy Central in 1997 and became one of the network’s signature programs. Its longevity helped distinguish it from newer animated contenders, although the award itself recognized the eligible television work presented for the 2026 ceremony.
