Which album earned Beyoncé her first Grammy for Album of the Year in 2025?

Cowboy Carter earned Beyoncé her first Grammy for Album of the Year in 2025. The album, officially titled Cowboy Carter, was released on March 29, 2024, as her eighth studio album.

It is the second act of a planned trilogy that began with Renaissance in 2022. Cowboy Carter explores country, Americana, rock, folk, blues, and other traditions while examining the history and contributions of Black musicians within country music. Beyoncé described the project as a progression from experiences surrounding her earlier work rather than a conventional genre exercise.

At the 67th Annual Grammy Awards in February 2025, Cowboy Carter won Album of the Year and Best Country Album. The Album of the Year victory was especially notable because Beyoncé had received several previous nominations in the category without winning it.

The album also produced “Texas Hold ’Em,” which became Beyoncé’s first number-one song on Billboard’s Hot 100 as a solo artist since “Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It)” in 2008.
