Which album by The Doors includes the hit single 'Light My Fire'?

The story behind the answer

The Doors album that includes the hit single “Light My Fire” is The Doors, the band’s self-titled debut studio album. Elektra Records released it on January 4, 1967, after the group had developed much of its early material through Los Angeles club performances.

Recorded at Sunset Sound Recorders in Hollywood in August 1966, the album was produced by Paul A. Rothchild. Its songs combine psychedelic rock with blues, jazz, classical influences, and rhythm and blues. Alongside “Light My Fire,” the track list includes “Break On Through (To the Other Side),” “Soul Kitchen,” “Alabama Song,” and the extended closing piece “The End.”

The album version of “Light My Fire” runs for more than seven minutes and features a substantial instrumental section. For radio, it was edited into a much shorter single that became a number-one hit in the United States. The album itself eventually reached number two on the Billboard 200. A common mistake is choosing Strange Days, the band’s second album, which followed later in 1967.
