Which actress portrays Angela Martin?

Angela Kinsey portrays Angela Martin in The Office. Kinsey plays the tightly wound senior accountant at Dunder Mifflin’s Scranton branch, a character known for her strict manners, love of organization, and devotion to cats.

Angela Martin appears from the series’ pilot through its finale. Over the show’s nine seasons, her story expands beyond accounting and office party disputes: she becomes involved with Andy Bernard, secretly dates Dwight Schrute, marries Senator Robert Lipton, and eventually reconnects with Dwight. Her relationship with Dwight becomes one of the series’ major long-running storylines.

Kinsey’s casting has an interesting connection to another central character. She originally auditioned for Pam Beesly, the receptionist eventually played by Jenna Fischer. Producers felt Kinsey’s energy was better suited to Angela, and the role was subsequently shaped around her performance. This is why Jenna Fischer is a common wrong answer: Fischer portrays Pam, not Angela.

Kinsey later co-hosted the Office Ladies podcast with Fischer, discussing episodes and behind-the-scenes stories from the series.
