Which actress plays Nyah Nordoff-Hall in Mission: Impossible 2?

Thandiwe Newton plays Nyah Nordoff-Hall in Mission: Impossible 2.

Nyah is a skilled professional thief recruited by Ethan Hunt for a mission involving a genetically engineered disease and its antidote. Her previous relationship with Ethan gives the film a romantic and emotional storyline alongside its espionage plot. Newton’s performance makes Nyah both an important operative and a central figure in Ethan’s choices.

Mission: Impossible 2 was directed by John Woo and released in 2000. It differs stylistically from the first film through its prominent use of slow motion, balletic action, motorcycle sequences, and Hong Kong action-cinema influences.

Thandiwe Newton was widely credited for many years under the spelling “Thandie Newton.” In 2021, she announced that her birth name, Thandiwe, would be restored in professional credits. Nyah does not return as a principal character in the later films.
