Diana Rigg played Tracy Draco, James Bond’s wife, in On Her Majesty’s Secret Service.
Released in 1969, On Her Majesty’s Secret Service was the only official Bond film starring George Lazenby as 007. Rigg played Teresa “Tracy” di Vicenzo, the daughter of crime figure Marc-Ange Draco. Bond’s relationship with Tracy develops into marriage during the film.
The film is notable for giving Bond an unusually emotional personal storyline. Its ending is tragic: Tracy is killed shortly after the wedding, a major event in the cinematic character’s history. Rigg’s performance helped make Tracy a memorable Bond heroine rather than merely a partner in the action plot.
Rigg was already internationally known for playing Emma Peel in the television series The Avengers. She later appeared in major productions including Game of Thrones. Tracy is sometimes confused with other Bond characters played by Rigg-era stars, but Diana Rigg is the actress specifically associated with Bond’s wife.
